Employees are enjoying much more convenient way of working today because of the pervasive implementation of IT consumerization. IT consumerization allows them to work in a more flexible and more convenient working circumstance than it was before because they are now doing their works by using their own mobile devices, devices that they are obviously familiar with. Because the devices that they use to facilitate their works are mobile and privately owned, they can work at any places and at any time they want. They don’t need to everlastingly sit at their office and stare at computer screens that are stationed in the office. With mobile working instruments at their hand, they can work from their home or any other places they want.
Because the trend of IT consumerization is here to stay and will remain here until the next few years, employers have to be ready to deal with it and to take care of any challenges that it imposes on them. In fact, if they are ready to cope with this trend, it will mostly benefit them because when their employees can work conveniently and flexibly, they can expect their employees to work more productively and effectively. Therefore, in order to keep this trend beneficial for both them and their employees, they have to plan a perfect technology management system that establishes a friendly infrastructure for the implementation of IT consumerization.
There are several things that IT managers have to deal with in order to keep the implementation of IT consumerization working properly. Firstly, they have to encourage employees to bring the latter’s own devices. This encouragement—which is usually referred to as BYOD—allows the company to cut its expenditure because if its employees are using their own devices, it doesn’t have to procure many stationary devices in its office. Secondly, IT managers have to deal with mobile device management job. Because mobile devices are using various operating systems, a management system that can deal with such variety is necessary.
